PP146 The Use Of Indirect Comparisons For Reimbursement Decision Making In The Netherlands And England

Introduction Reimbursement decision making is based on a relative effectiveness assessment (REA), which may be combined with cost-effectiveness assessment, by national Health Technology Assessment (HTA) agencies. These assessments are clinical data where new interventions compared to the current standard of care, differ between countries. Since most pivotal trials only include limited number interventions, indirect treatment comparisons (ITCs) can used compare multiple interventions. The aim this study was evaluate use ITCs in HTA Netherlands and England. Methods All pharmaceutical published 2015 2019 National Care Institute (ZIN) for Excellence (NICE) were reviewed determine whether an ITC had been used. For detailed analysis we included all ZIN using ITC, random sample NICE (10 per publication year). Results Between total 106 265 conducted NICE, respectively. Of these 48 from 150 ITC. showed that including comparative evidence led REA conclusion similar therapeutic 57 percent 52 50 NICE. recommendations often resulted positive (57% assessments), restricted (50% assessments). Different methods employed incorporate evidence, such as naïve network meta-analysis. Conclusions Our results significant variability ZIN, contribute differences their recommendations. Further will provide deeper insight suggestions clearer international guidance HTA.
